The "Advanced
Slurry Pumping & Piping" training course arms attendees with key
knowledge which is required for the design of slurry
pipelines, in-plant slurry piping and slurry pumping systems.
This slurry
training course is conducted over two days and the attendee is
exposed to slurry topics such as: slurry properties and their
measurement; slurry flow curves; slurry piping and pipeline
materials of construction (including liners); case studies; the
design of piping for settling slurries; the design of piping for
non-settling, non-Newtonian slurries; scale-up methods; slurry
testing; selecting slurry pumps; de-rating slurry pumps for settling
and non-settling slurries; frothing slurries; centrifugal slurry
pumps; and positive displacement slurry pumps etc.
Because of the
slurry topics presented as well as some aspects of their theoretical
basis, this slurry training seminar is classed as an "advanced"
seminar as a higher level of understanding of the basic principles
of hydraulics theory and undergraduate level engineering mathematics
is required. Anyone who has a degree or diploma in an
engineering or science related field in-conjunction with basic
background knowledge in the hydraulics of liquid flow should be well
placed to derive maximum benefit from this slurry course.
Similarly, anyone who has previously attended KASA's "Liquid Piping
System Fundamentals" seminar and/or KASA's "Pump Fundamentals"
seminar should easily comprehend and enjoy the material presented in
this slurry seminar.
This slurry
training course has been designed for those who are directly
responsible for the design of slurry piping, slurry pipelines and
slurry pumping systems as well as those who are required to size,
select and specify equipment such as slurry pumps (both centrifugal
and PD), slurry instrumentation and slurry valves.
Please Note:
KASA also run a customised, "fundamentals" level slurry course
titled "Slurry Pumping and Piping Fundamentals". This
slurry training course is only offered as a private/in-house seminar
and combines key topics included in "Advanced Slurry Pumping
and Piping", "Pump Fundamentals" and "Liquid Piping Systems
Fundamentals" into a three or four day on-site slurry course
depending on your training needs. |
